Jacques Friedel ForMemRS was a French physicist and material scientist.

Jacques Bizet was a French physician and businessman best known for his childhood friendship with the novelist Marcel Proust, whom he predeceased by fifteen days when he committed suicide. The composer Georges Bizet was his father. His mother was the literary hostess, born Geneviève Halévy. The essayist-historian Daniel Halévy was a cousin.

Jacques Ellul was a French philosopher, sociologist, lay theologian, and professor who was a noted Christian anarchist. Ellul was a longtime Professor of History and the Sociology of Institutions on the Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences at the University of Bordeaux. A prolific writer, he authored more than 60 books and more than 600 articles over his lifetime, many of which discussed propaganda, the impact of technology on society, and the interaction between religion and politics.

Jacques Poujol was a French essayist and historian of Protestantism. He also fought in the French Resistance during the Second World War.
