Egon Rudi Ernst Krenz is a former East German politician who was the last communist leader of East Germany during the final months of 1989. He succeeded Erich Honecker as the General Secretary of the ruling Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED), but was forced to resign only weeks later when the Berlin Wall fell.

Egon Müller is a former international motorcycle speedway rider and was winner of the Speedway World Championship in 1983, winning the title in his homeland with a maximum score of 15 points.

Egon Flaig is a German ancient historian and public intellectual, currently Emeritus Professor of Ancient History at the University of Rostock. Flaig's research has ranged from ancient Greek and Roman history to world-historical treatments of topics such as slavery and democracy. He has also been an active commentator on issues such as democracy, national identity, and religion, especially as pertaining to his home country.

Egon Schöpf is an Austrian alpine skier who competed in the 1948 Winter Olympics and in the 1952 Winter Olympics. He was born in Innsbruck the capital of Tyrol. In 1948 he finished fifth in the alpine skiing downhill event and sixth in the alpine skiing slalom competition. Four years later he participated in the 1952 downhill event and in the giant slalom competition but he was not able to finish one of these races.

Egon Albrecht-Lemke was a German-Brazilian Luftwaffe fighter pilot and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross during World War II. Albrecht claimed 25 aerial victories, 10 over the Western Front and 15 over the Eastern Front.
