Claude R. LeBrun is an American mathematician who holds the position of SUNY Distinguished Professor of Mathematics at Stony Brook University. Much of his research concerns the Riemannian geometry of 4-manifolds, or related topics in complex and differential geometry.

Claude-François Poullart des Places, C.S.Sp. was a French Catholic priest who founded the Congregation of the Holy Spirit in 1703 at the age of 24. The decree opening his cause of canonization was promulgated on 1 October 1989, but has not yet proceeded to his beatification.

Claude Burton Hutchison was a botanist, agricultural economist, educator, and Mayor of the City of Berkeley, California from 1955 to 1963.

Major-General Claude Martin was an officer in the French, and later the English East India Company's army in India. He rose to the rank of major-general in the English East India Company's Bengal Army. Martin was born in Lyon, France, into a humble background, and was a self-made man who left a substantial lasting legacy in the form of his writings, buildings and the educational institutions he founded posthumously. There are now ten schools named after him, two in Lucknow, two in Calcutta and six in Lyon. The small village of Martin Purwa in India was also named after him.

Claude Gaspar Bachet Sieur de Méziriac was a French mathematician and poet born in Bourg-en-Bresse, at that time belonging to Duchy of Savoy. He wrote Problèmes plaisans et délectables qui se font par les nombres, Les éléments arithmétiques, and a Latin translation of the Arithmetica of Diophantus. He also discovered means of solving indeterminate equations using continued fractions, a method of constructing magic squares, and a proof of Bézout's identity.
