Cao Yuan is a Chinese diver and an Olympic gold medalist, having won two golds and one bronze. He has also won golds in diving at the World Championships and World Cups.

Cao Yupeng is a Chinese snooker player. He won the 2011 Asian Under-21 Championship, thus qualifying for the professional main tour for the 2011–12 season. In his first season on the circuit, he reached the last 16 of the World Championship.

He is also a professor and doctoral tutor at Peking University. His novels have been translated into English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Serbian.

Carlos Império Hamburger, better known as Cao Hamburger, is a Brazilian film and television director, screenwriter, and producer. He is one of the creators of the Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum series of programs for children in the TV Cultura of São Paulo, along with Flávio de Souza, which gave origin to a successful movie with the same title. Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum was one of the most successful children shows to air in Brazil. He directed in 2006 another successful film, The Year My Parents Went on Vacation, partly based on his childhood memories.

Cao Gangchuan was vice chairman of the Central Military Commission and former Minister of National Defense of the People's Republic of China. He was also state councilor and director of the PLA General Armament Department.
