Choi In-hoon was a South Korean novelist and professor of creative writing at Seoul Institute of the Arts from 1977 to 2001. He is well-known for his 1960 novel The Square, which depicts "the troubled life of a Korean prisoner of war (POW) who ends up taking his own life amid an intensified ideological rift in the post-Korean War era." He won the 2011 Park Kyong-ni Prize.

Carla Marangoni, better known as Clara Marangoni, was an Italian gymnast who competed in the 1928 Summer Olympics. She was born in Pavia as "Carla," but she is usually (mistakenly) mentioned in the official statistics as Clara. In 1928, she won the silver medal as member of the Italian gymnastics team and was therefore among the first Italian women to win an Olympic medal. She was also the last surviving athlete from 1928 Summer Games. Marangoni died on 18 January 2018 at the age of 102 years.

Elizabeth Muriel Chase was a Zimbabwean field hockey player and member of the national team that won the gold medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. Previously, she represented South Africa.

Georg Nicolaus Knauer was a German-American Vergilian philologist who was a Professor in the Classics Department of the University of Pennsylvania. He also previously taught at the Freie Universität Berlin from 1954-1974 before becoming a Penn professor the following year. He is best known for Die Aeneis und Homer: Studien zur poetischen Technik Vergils mit Listen der Homerzitate in der Aeneis, published in 1964 by Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht in Göttingen, which is regarded as a comprehensive work on the influence of Homer upon Vergil. That work explains the similarities between the Aeneid and Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, and contains a comprehensive index of similarities between those works.

Armando de Queiroz Monteiro Filho was a Brazilian businessman, engineer and politician. He served as the country's Minister of Agriculture from 1961 until 1962, in the cabinet of President João Goulart. He was the father of Armando Monteiro, a politician, former national Senator from Pernambuco, and former Minister of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.

Danilo Zoleta Florencio was a Filipino professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association. He was known as "Daredevil Danny" and the original "Skywalker" in Philippine basketball.
