Anatoly Andreyevich Gromyko was a Soviet and Russian scientist and diplomat. He specialized in American and African studies as well as international relations, and was a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Union of Russian Artists.

Fernand Picot was a French professional racing cyclist. He rode in eight editions of the Tour de France.

Tai Chen-yao was a Taiwanese politician. He served three terms in the Legislative Yuan, from 1990 to 1996 and again from 1999 to 2002, and was later named vice chairman of the Council of Agriculture.

István Szondy was a Hungarian modern pentathlete, horse rider and Olympic champion who competed at the 1948, 1952 and the 1956 Summer Olympics.

Halaevalu Mata'aho ʻAhomeʻe was the Queen Consort of Tonga from 1965 to 2006, and the widow of the late King Tāufaʻāhau Tupou IV of Tonga. She was the mother of King George Tupou V and the current reigning King of Tonga, Tupou VI.

Mamy Rakotoarivelo was a Malagasy politician. A member of the National Assembly of Madagascar, he was elected as a member of the Tiako I Madagasikara party, representing the third constituency of Antananarivo. He was found dead on 28 July 2017 with a gunshot wound and a gun near his hands.
