Raghubir Singh (1942–1999) was an Indian photographer, most known for his landscapes and documentary-style photographs of the people of India. He was a self-taught photographer who worked in India and lived in Paris, London and New York. During his career he worked with National Geographic Magazine, The New York Times, The New Yorker and Time. In the early 1970s, he was one of the first photographers to reinvent the use of color at a time when color photography was still a marginal art form.

Mariya Osipova was the Soviet partisan who provided Yelena Mazanik with the bomb she used to kill Wilhelm Kube, a high-ranking SS officer and the General-Kommissar of Nazi-occupied Belarus. For doing so Osipova and her co-conspirators were awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union on 29 October 1943.

Rikuo Nemoto is a former professional baseball catcher and manager in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball. He was elected to the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame in 2001.

Joaquín Rodrigo Vidre, 1st Marquess of the Gardens of Aranjuez, was a Spanish composer and a virtuoso pianist. He is best known for composing the Concierto de Aranjuez, a cornerstone of the classical guitar repertoire.

Olivier Debré (1920–1999) was a French abstract painter.

Charles Ainslie Crichton was an English film director and editor. Born in Wallasey, Cheshire, he became best known for directing many comedies produced at Ealing Studios and had a 40-year career editing and directing many films and television programmes. For the acclaimed comedy A Fish Called Wanda (1988), Crichton was nominated for both the Academy Award for Best Director and the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.

Ella Auerbach was one of the first female German lawyers. On 20 November 1922, Auerbach passed her junior law exam and was sworn in early December 1922 as the first woman in Bad Homburg as a trainee lawyer. Moving to America in 1940, Auerbach became president of the Sisterhood of the New York community Habonim, was a member of the women's group of the Leo Baeck Institute for many years and was a member of the American Federation of Jews from Central Europe.

Jacobo Timerman, was a Soviet-born Argentine publisher, journalist, and author, who is most noted for his confronting and reporting the atrocities of the Argentine military regime's Dirty War during a period of widespread repression in which an estimated 30,000 political prisoners were disappeared. He was persecuted, tortured and imprisoned by the Argentine junta in the late 1970s and was exiled in 1979 with his wife to Israel. He was widely honored for his work as a journalist and publisher.
