Ruth von Mayenburg was an Austrian journalist, writer and translator. In her earlier years, she was politically active in the Communist Party of Austria. Fleeing the Nazis, she lived in exile in the Soviet Union at Moscow's Hotel Lux, afterwards writing several books about her experiences there.

Wogan Philipps, 2nd Baron Milford was the only member of the Communist Party of Great Britain ever to sit in the House of Lords.

Joseph Grimond, Baron Grimond,, known as Jo Grimond, was a British politician, leader of the Liberal Party for eleven years from 1956 to 1967 and again briefly on an interim basis in 1976.

Elizabeth Coyote Threatt was an American model and actress, best known for her starring role in Howard Hawks's 1952 film The Big Sky, where she is in a love triangle with Kirk Douglas and Dewey Martin. It was her only film appearance, and all dialogue spoken by Threatt was in the depicted Native American language. She was spotted by Howard Hawks and cast for the part of an Indian princess captured by white man as hostage for a trade deal. Threatt left the film industry after this one film.

George William Herbert, 7th Earl of Powis, was a British peer who sat in the House of Lords between 1988 and 1993.

Aidan Merivale Crawley was a British journalist, television executive and editor, and politician. He was a member of both of Britain's major political parties: the Labour Party and Conservative Party, and was elected to the House of Commons as a Labour MP from 1945 to 1951, and as a Conservative MP from 1962 to 1967.
