Ivan Khristoforovich Bagramyan, also known as Hovhannes Khachaturi Baghramyan, was a Soviet military commander and Marshal of the Soviet Union of Armenian origin. During World War II, Bagramyan was the second non-Slavic military officer, after Latvian Max Reyter, to become a commander of a Front. He was among several Armenians in the Soviet Army who held the highest proportion of high-ranking officers in the Soviet military during the war.

Boris Petrovich Chirkov was a Soviet actor. He appeared in 50 films between 1928 and 1975. He was awarded four Stalin Prizes: in 1941, 1947, 1949, and in 1952. He 1975, he was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labour.

Benjamin Lauder Nicholson, OM was an English painter of abstract compositions, landscape and still-life.

Albert Eugen Rollomann, better known as Dieter Borsche, was a German actor. He appeared in over 90 films between 1935 and 1981. Since 1944, he suffered from muscle atrophy and had to use a wheelchair since the late 1970s. He was born in Hanover, Germany and died in Nuremberg, Germany. Borsche became a film star after World War II following his performance in Keepers of the Night (1949).

Eduardo Nicanor Frei Montalva was a Chilean political leader. In his long political career, he was Minister of Public Works, president of his Christian Democratic Party, senator, President of the Senate, and the 28th president of Chile from 1964 to 1970. His eldest son, Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle, also became president of Chile (1994–2000).

Dr Mohammed Helmy was an Egyptian doctor who saved several Jews from Nazi persecution in Berlin during the Holocaust. He has been recognized as Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem. He was the first Arab to be recognized as such.

Marthe Richard, née Betenfeld was a prostitute and spy. She later became a politician and worked towards the closing of brothels in France in 1946.

Salah Nasr served as head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Directorate from 1957 to 1967. He retired citing health reasons following Egypt's defeat in the 1967 Six-Day War.

Jeanne Adèle “Janot” Blum was the third wife of Léon Blum, the French socialist politician and three times Prime Minister of France.

Richard William O'Neill was a soldier in the United States Army who served during World War I. He received the Medal of Honor for his actions, and went on to receive numerous other decorations to recognize his wartime heroism.
