Giovanni Michelotti was one of the most prolific designers of sports cars in the 20th century. His notable contributions were for Ferrari, Lancia, Maserati and Triumph marques. He was also associated with truck designs for Leyland Motors, and with designs for British Leyland after the merger of Leyland and BMC.

César Rengifo (1915–1980) was a Venezuelan painter, writer, poet and journalist.

Johann Friedrich Karl Asperger was an Austrian eugenicist, war criminal, pediatrician,, medical theorist, and medical professor for whom Asperger syndrome is named. He is best known for his early studies on mental disorders, specifically in children. His work was largely unnoticed during his lifetime except for a few accolades in Vienna, and his studies on psychological disorders acquired world renown only posthumously. He wrote over 300 publications, mostly concerning a condition he termed autistic psychopathy (AP).

Rostislav Evgenievich Alexeyev was a Russian Soviet Director & Chief of Design known for his pioneering work on hydrofoil ships and ground effect vehicles. Alexeyev was an accomplished designer of hydrofoil ships, such as the Raketa, and became a prominent developer of ground effect vehicles, particularly the Caspian Sea Monster and the A-90 Orlyonok.

Troy Leon Gregg was the first condemned individual whose death sentence was upheld by the United States Supreme Court after the Court's decision in Furman v. Georgia invalidated all previously enacted death penalty laws in the United States. He later participated in the first successful escape from a Georgia death row, but was killed later that night.

Francisco Manuel Lumbrales de Sá Carneiro, GCTE, GCC, GCL was a Portuguese politician, Prime Minister of Portugal for most of 1980, and founder of the Social Democratic Party. He only held office of Prime Minister for eleven months, dying in a plane crash with his partner, "Snu" Abecassis, on 4 December 1980. A parliamentary inquiry said in 2004 that there was evidence of a bomb in the aircraft, after a 1995 inquiry had concluded there was evidence of sabotage.

Wilhelm Hoegner was the second Bavarian prime minister (SPD) after World War II and father of the Bavarian constitution. He has been the only Social Democrat to hold this office since 1920.
