Walter Frederick Gale was an Australian banker. Gale was born in Paddington, Sydney, New South Wales. He had a strong interest in astronomy and built his first telescope in 1884.

Georg Alexander was a German film actor who was a prolific presence in German cinema. He also directed a number of films during the silent era.

Enrico Caviglia was a distinguished officer in the Italian Army. Victorious on the bloody battlefields of the Great War, he rose in time to the highest rank in his country, Marshal of Italy; he was also a Senator of the kingdom.

Hermann Föttinger was a German engineer and inventor. In the course of his life he submitted over 100 patent applications, but he is most notable for inventing fluid coupling.

Eduard Weiter was a German bureaucrat who became a Schutzstaffel Obersturmbannführer and concentration camp commandant during World War II.

György Sárközi (1899–1945) was a Hungarian poet, translator and writer, and collaborator to the magazine Nyugat, Pandora (1927), Válasz (1935–1938) and Kélet Népe (1939). As he was Jewish, in 1944 he was deported to the work camp of Balf and died there.
