Jean Baptiste Perrin was a French physicist who, in his studies of the Brownian motion of minute particles suspended in liquids, verified Albert Einstein’s explanation of this phenomenon and thereby confirmed the atomic nature of matter. For this achievement he was honoured with the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1926.

Peadar Kearney was an Irish republican and composer of numerous rebel songs. In 1907 he wrote the lyrics to A Soldier's Song, now the Irish national anthem. He was the uncle of Irish writers Brendan Behan, Brian Behan, and Dominic Behan.

Edwin C. Hahn was an American sound engineer. He was nominated for an Oscar for Best Special Effects on the film Only Angels Have Wings at the 12th Academy Awards.

Elliott J. Clawson was an American screenwriter. He wrote for 81 films between 1913 and 1929. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and died in Vista, California. At the 2nd Academy Awards in 1930, four of his films were nominated for Best Writing: The Cop, Sal of Singapore, Skyscraper, and The Leatherneck.
