B. Nagi Reddy
Bommireddy Nagi Reddi was an Indian film producer and director mainly in Telugu cinema. He set up Vijaya Vauhini Studios in Chennai, which was then Asia's biggest film studio. As his elder brother had the same initials and was known as B. N. Reddi, Nagi Reddi was popularly known as B. Nagi Reddi. Some of the movies produced by Nagi Reddi include Patala Bhairavi (1951), Missamma (1955), Maya Bazaar (1957), Gundamma Katha (1962), Maduve Maadi Nodu (1965-Kannada), Enga Veetu Pillai (1965), Ram Aur Shyam (1967), Nam Naadu (1969-Tamil), Shriman Shrimati (1982), Julie (1975), and Swarg Narak (1978), the latter two of which were in Hindi. Reddi has served as the president of Film Federation of India twice, in 1960–61 and 1962–63.
Shemaryahu Gurary
Rabbi Shemaryahu Gurary, also known by his Hebrew initials as Rashag, (1897-1989) was an Orthodox rabbi belonging to the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic movement. His father was Rabbi Menachem Mendel Gurary. He was the older son-in-law of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Schneersohn (1880-1950), known as Rebbe Rayatz, the sixth Rebbe of the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic movement, and the brother-in-law of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson (1902-1994), the seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe. He worked with his father-in-law in communal service in both Russia and Poland and then arrived in the U.S. in 1940, where he continued this work until his death. Gurary had a comprehensive knowledge of Chassidic philosophy and was a devoted follower of his father-in-law Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, and later of his brother-in-law Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson.
Philip Abelson
Philip Hauge Abelson was an American physicist, scientific editor and science writer. Trained as a nuclear physicist, he co-discovered the element neptunium, worked on isotope separation in the Manhattan Project, and wrote the first study of nuclear marine propulsion for submarines. He later worked on a broad range of scientific topics and related public policy, including organic geochemistry, paleobiology and energy policy.
