Sterling Price Holloway Jr. was an American actor, who appeared in over 100 films and 40 television shows. He did voice acting for The Walt Disney Company, including providing original voice-work for Mr. Stork in Dumbo, Kaa in The Jungle Book and the title character in Winnie the Pooh.

George Rodger was a British photojournalist noted for his work in Africa and for photographing the mass deaths at Bergen-Belsen concentration camp at the end of the Second World War.

Henno Martin was a German professor of geology who, along with Hermann Korn, lived for two years in the Namib Desert to avoid internment during the Second World War.

Richard Loree Anderson was an American econometrician. He was a Professor of Statistics at North Carolina State University from 1941 to 1966. In 1967, he took up chairmanship of the newly established Department of Statistics at the University of Kentucky, a position he held until 1979. In 1951 he was elected as a Fellow of the American Statistical Association. While a professor at the University of Kentucky, he consulted with a number of drug companies on clinical trials. Even before, he had been consulting several computer programming companies including IMSL, BMDP, and SAS.

Karl Stein was a German mathematician. He is well known for complex analysis and cryptography. Stein manifolds and Stein factorization are named after him.
