Sir Edgar Cuthbert Fremantle Whitehead,, OBE, was a Rhodesian politician. He was a longstanding member of the Southern Rhodesian Legislative Assembly, although his career was interrupted by other posts and by illness. In particular he had poor eyesight, and wore very thick glasses, and later suffered deafness whilst in office. As an ally of Sir Roy Welensky, he was Prime Minister of Southern Rhodesia from 1958 to 1962. His government was defeated in the 1962 general election by the Rhodesian Front.

William Fisk Harrah was an American businessman and the founder of Harrah's Hotel and Casinos, now part of Caesars Entertainment.

Elisabeth Jacoba den Uyl-van Vessem was a Dutch activist, politician, and writer, involved with the PvdA, the Dutch social-democratic party. She was the wife of politician Joop den Uyl, and was socially and politically active. She wrote for magazines including Opzij, Vrij Nederland, Margriet, and for Het Parool.

Robert Porter McKimson Sr. was an American animator and illustrator, best known for his work on the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of cartoons from Warner Bros. Cartoons and later DePatie–Freleng Enterprises. He wrote and directed many animated cartoon shorts starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Foghorn Leghorn, Hippety Hopper, The Tasmanian Devil and among other characters. He was also well known for defining Bugs Bunny's look in the 1943 short Tortoise Wins by a Hare.

Ludwig von Bogdandy was a German metallurgist and industrial executive. He was a leading researcher on iron and steel production, and served as CEO of Voestalpine, an international steel based technology and capital goods group based in Linz. He also served as the honorary Hungarian Consul-General in Linz.
