Assad Bucaram Elmhalin was an Ecuadorian politician of Lebanese descent, he occupied positions as city Councilor and later of Mayor of Guayaquil. He was elected a Deputy for the province of Guayaquil and was later appointed President of the National Assembly of Ecuador.

Carmelo Pompilio Realino Antonio Bene, known as Carmelo Bene was an Italian actor, poet, film director and screenwriter. He was an important exponent of the Italian avant-garde theatre and cinema. He died of a heart ailment in 2002.
