Gerardus (Gerard) 't Hooft is a Dutch theoretical physicist and professor at Utrecht University, the Netherlands. He shared the 1999 Nobel Prize in Physics with his thesis advisor Martinus J. G. Veltman "for elucidating the quantum structure of electroweak interactions".

Piet Borst is emeritus professor of Clinical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Amsterdam (UVA), and until 1999 Director of Research and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Netherlands Cancer Institute and the Antoni van Leeuwenhoekziekenhuis (NKI-AVL). He continued to work at the NKI-AVL as a staff member and group leader until 2016.

Catherine Goldstein is a French number theorist and historian of mathematics who works as a director of research at the Institut de mathématiques de Jussieu (IMJ). She was president of L'association femmes et mathématiques in 1991.
