Thomas Richard Tate is an Australian businessman, property investor and politician who is the current mayor of the City of Gold Coast. He was first elected on 28 April 2012 and re-elected on both 19 March 2016 and 28 March 2020 with more than two thirds of the preferential vote. The Gold Coast mayor is directly elected by residents and is the only councillor who doesn't represent a specific Gold Coast Council division; and is the principal representative of the City of Gold Coast and its policies. Gold Coast City has a budget of $1.7 billion annually, the second-highest of any municipal government in Australia, and is the second-largest local government area in Australia, employing a staff of over 3,500.

Mariëtte "Jet" Bussemaker is a retired Dutch politician. A member of the Labour Party (PvdA), she served as Minister of Education, Culture and Science from 5 November 2012 to 26 October 2017 in the Second Rutte cabinet. She has been a professor of Science, Policy, Social Impact and Healthcare at Leiden University since 1 July 2018.

Robert Leon Basmann is an American econometrician. He was a Professor of Econometrics at Texas A&M University until his retirement. He served as a lecturer at Binghamton University after his retirement. As of at least as recently as 2019 Basmann was still listed on Binghamton Universities listing of emeritus professors.

Lee Bontecou is an American sculptor and printmaker and a pioneer figure in the New York art world. She kept her work consistently in a recognizable style, and received broad recognition in the 1960s. Bontecou made abstract sculptures in the 1960s and 1970s and created vacuum-formed plastic fish, plants, and flower forms in the 1970s. Rich, organic shapes and powerful energy appear in her drawings, prints, and sculptures. Her work has been shown and collected in many major museums in the United States and in Europe.
