He participated in the All Japan Kendo Championship 12 times from 1990 to 2001 and won 6 times, more than any other competitor in the history of the championship, including 2 successive victories. Because of his great achievements in Kendo, he is called “A Master Swordsman of the 21st Century" and “An Iron Man of Kendo.”
