He was the head coach of the Colorado State Rams football team from 2015 to 2019. He succeeded Jim McElwain at CSU, making him the second consecutive SEC offensive coordinator hired to coach the Rams. Before joining the Rams, he spent all but one of the first 22 years of his adult life with the Georgia Bulldogs as a player or assistant coach.
