Oston Rustam o'g'li Urunov is an Uzbekistani footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Russian club FC Spartak Moscow and the Uzbekistan national football team.

Uktam Isayevich Barnoev was an Uzbek politician. He served as Khokim (Governor) of Samarkand Region from 2008 to 2010 and of his native Bukhara Region from 2016 to 2020, and as Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan from February 2020 until his death in office during the COVID-19 pandemic in September 2020.

Gafur Rakhimov is an Uzbek businessman and sports administrator who is the President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA). He has been Vice President of AIBA since 1998.

Odil Ahmedov is an Uzbek international footballer, who plays for Tianjin TEDA. He usually plays as a central midfielder, but also played as a centre back during the 2011 Asian Cup, because of some injured defenders.

He was known for writing the screenplay for the highly-popular 1977 adventure film Shum bola.

Sabir Umaruly Rakhimov was an Red Army Major general and Hero of the Soviet Union. Rahimov fought in World War II and commanded the 37th Guards Rifle Division from November 1944. Rahimov was killed by shrapnel from an artillery shell in Gdańsk during the East Pomeranian Offensive. During the Soviet period Rakhimov was considered national hero, as he was the first Red Army general officer from Uzbekistan. Metro stations, streets, schools and other places in Uzbekistan were named after Rakhimov. However, these were all renamed during 2010 and 2011 as part of a campaign by Islam Karimov to remove Soviet influence.

Marsel İlhan is a Turkish professional tennis player, ranked No. 1 in Turkey and with a career-high singles ranking of world No. 77 in March 2015. He is the first ever Turkish player to reach the 2nd round in a Grand Slam tournament, as well as the first Turkish player to win a Challenger Tournament and also the first Turkish player to enter the top 100 in the world ranking.

Usmankhan Alimov was a Grand Mufti of Uzbekistan and Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan. In 2018, he was included in the list of 500 Most Influential Muslims in the world.
