List of Famous people born in South Korea

Choi Sol-gyu is a South Korean badminton player. He has been best known as a mixed doubles player since his back-to-back titles at the Asian Junior Championships in 2012 and 2013. However, as a junior, he was also successful in boys' singles, in which he won the under-17 title at the 2011 Surabaya Cup and the Malaysia International Youth U19 in both 2012 and 2013. He was a part of the Korean national team that won the 2017 Sudirman Cup.

Lee Chang-dong is a South Korean film director, screenwriter, and novelist. He has directed six feature films: Green Fish (1997), Peppermint Candy (2000), Oasis (2002), Secret Sunshine (2007), Poetry (2010), and Burning (2018). Burning became the first Korean film to make it to the 91st Academy Awards' final nine-film shortlist for Best Foreign Language Film. Burning also won the Fipresci International Critics' Prize at the 71st Cannes Film Festival, Best Foreign Language Film in Los Angeles Film Critics Association, and Best Foreign Language Film in Toronto Film Critics Association.

Lee Hyun-il is a badminton player from South Korea.He was the World and Asian Championships bronze medalists, and was part of South Korean team that won the 2003 Sudirman Cup as well in 2002 and 2014 Asian Games.

Song Do-yeong is a South Korean voice actress who joined the Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation's Voice Acting Division in 1970.

Yun Posun was a South Korean politician and Korean independence activist, who served as President of South Korea from 1960 to 1962 before being replaced by the long-serving Park Chung-hee as a result of the May 16 coup in 1961.
