Rudolf Herrnstadt was a German journalist and communist politician – most notable for his anti-fascist activity as an exile from the Nazi German regime in the Soviet Union during the war and as a journalist in East Germany until his death, where he and Wilhelm Zaisser represented the anti-Ulbricht wing of the Socialist Unity Party (SED) in the 1950s.

Johannes "Hans" Poeppel was a general in the German Bundeswehr. He served as Inspekteur des Heeres 1979–81.

Jan Kasprowicz was a poet, playwright, critic and translator; a foremost representative of Young Poland.

Hans-Busso von Busse was a German architect and academic.

Christfried Berger was a protestant theologian in the German Democratic Republic and, subsequently, in Germany following reunification. He was a leading ecumenist.

Jerzy Leszczyński (1884–1959) was a Polish stage and film actor. Both his parents Bolesław Leszczyński and Honorata Leszczyńska were noted stage actors of the nineteenth century.

Karl Hermann Dietrich Lothar Erdmann was a German journalist. During the Weimar Republic he was the editor of the trade union theory organ Die Arbeit. He was a main supporter of the turning away of trade unions from social democracy at the end of the Republic. Despite his rapprochement with National Socialism, he died after maltreatment in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp.
