Sun Chuanting, courtesy name Boya, was born in Shanxi; he was the late Ming Dynasty's Defence minister, and field Marshal (Dushi). He led 10,000 Ming troops against Li Zicheng's 70,000 troops. He was defeated and killed by Li in the Battle of Tongguan (1643).

Ho Yin or He Xian (traditional Chinese: 何賢; simplified Chinese: 何贤; pinyin: Hé Xián; Jyutping: Ho⁴ Jin⁴; December 1, 1908 – December 6, 1983) ComB was a businessman, politician and senior leader of the Chinese community in Macau.

Guo Shuang is a Chinese professional track cyclist. She won two bronze medals at the 2006 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, in Sprint and Keirin, and two silver medals at the 2007 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, again in Sprint and Keirin.

Xu Xing is a Chinese paleontologist who has named more dinosaurs than any other living paleontologist. Such dinosaurs include the Jurassic ceratopsian Yinlong, the Jurassic tyrannosauroid Guanlong, the large oviraptorosaur Gigantoraptor, and the troodontid Mei.

Xia Xuanze is a former badminton player from China who played singles at the world level from the late 1990s through the first few years of the 21st century. Now he is a singles coach for the national team of China.
