Bouyer competed for the Castorama, Agrigel–La Creuse–Fenioux, Française des Jeux, Bouygues Télécom and Team Europcar squads during his career. Bouyer suffers from narcolepsy, resulting in sudden sleep attacks and cataplexy, and was unable to compete or train without Modafinil.
