Lonely and bored in the capital, and at her husband's suggestion, Albaret began to run errands for Proust, who was her husband's most regular client. Before very long she became his secretary and housekeeper. During the final decade of Proust's life, when his health declined and he became progressively more withdrawn, even while working with continuing intensity on his writing, she became his nurse and "the writer’s most trusted conduit to the world beyond his reclusive, cork-lined bedroom".

He was part of the winning side at the 1993 Five Nations Championship. He won his final cap for France on 22 November 1997 against South Africa. Lacroix played in the 1991 Rugby World Cup - a tournament in which the French team was beaten in the quarter final stage by the eventual losing finalist, England - and again in the 1995 Rugby World Cup in which he was the top points scorer with 112 points. France finished the 1995 tournament in 3rd place, defeating a fellow losing semi finalist, England, in the 3rd / 4th place playoff game.

Antoine de la Mothe, sieur de Cadillac, born Antoine Laumet, was a French explorer and adventurer in New France which stretched from Eastern Canada to Louisiana on the Gulf of Mexico. He rose from a modest beginning in Acadia in 1683 as an explorer, trapper, and a trader of alcohol and furs, and he achieved various positions of political importance in the colony. He was the commander of Fort de Buade in St. Ignace, Michigan, in 1694. In 1701, he founded Fort Pontchartrain du Détroit ; he was commandant of the fort until 1710. Between 1710 and 1716, he was the governor of Louisiana, although he did not arrive in that territory until 1713.
