Bert Jacobs was a football manager from the Netherlands, who played for HFC Haarlem. Jacobs was a football trainer at a young age, worked for Roda JC, FC Utrecht, Fortuna Sittard, Vitesse Arnhem, RKC Waalwijk and Sporting de Gijón. Renowned for his level-headed insight into the game of football and for coining the term "Hotsknotsbegonia football."

Simon Melkianus Tahamata is a Dutch football coach and former professional player who played for Dutch and Belgian clubs. He also played 22 times for the Dutch national team, scoring twice. Tahamata was born in the Netherlands, but took Belgian nationality in 1990.

He emigrated to the United States, became a naturalized citizen, and held a number of important scientific and management positions in academic and government institutions.

Willem Jacob 's Gravesande was a Dutch mathematician and natural philosopher, chiefly remembered for developing experimental demonstrations of the laws of classical mechanics. As professor of mathematics, astronomy, and philosophy at Leiden University, he helped to propagate Isaac Newton's ideas in Continental Europe.
