Ma Bufang (1903 – 31 July 1975) (traditional Chinese: 馬步芳; simplified Chinese: 马步芳; pinyin: Mǎ Bùfāng; Wade–Giles: Ma³ Pu⁴-fang¹, Xiao'erjing: ما بوفنگ‎) was a prominent Muslim Ma clique warlord in China during the Republic of China era, ruling the province of Qinghai. His rank was Lieutenant-general.

Chen Baosheng is a Chinese politician and academic administrator. He currently serves as China's Minister of Education. He formerly served as the party chief and vice-president of the China National School of Administration and vice-president of the Central Party School.

Li Guang was a Chinese general of the Western Han dynasty. Nicknamed "Flying General" by the Xiongnu, he fought primarily in the campaigns against the nomadic Xiongnu tribes to the north of China. He was known to the Xiongnu as a tough opponent when it came to fortress defense, and his presence was sometimes enough for the Xiongnu to abort a siege.

Wei Chen is a Chinese pop singer and actor, who rose to fame through televised singing competition Super Boy. He is probably best known through his album Disparate and his role as Ye Shuo in television series Meteor Shower.

Empress Ma, formally Empress Mingde, was an empress during the Eastern Han Dynasty from the year 60 until her death. Her husband was Emperor Ming of Han.

Pang De, courtesy name Lingming, was a military general who lived during the late Eastern Han dynasty of China. He started his career under the warlord Ma Teng, who was based in Liang Province. In 211, Ma Teng's son Ma Chao, along with a coalition of warlords from Liang Province, started a rebellion against the Han central government, which was controlled by the warlord Cao Cao. After Cao Cao defeated Ma Chao and the coalition at the Battle of Tong Pass, Ma Chao fled to Hanzhong Commandery and took shelter under the warlord Zhang Lu. Pang De accompanied him to Hanzhong. When Ma Chao defected from Zhang Lu's side to another warlord Liu Bei, Pang De remained in Hanzhong and eventually came to serve Cao Cao after Cao Cao defeated Zhang Lu at the Battle of Yangping and took over Hanzhong. In 219, Pang De fought at the Battle of Fancheng under Cao Ren's command against Liu Bei's forces led by Guan Yu. Pang De was captured in battle and eventually executed by Guan Yu when he refused to surrender.

Ma Lin was the governor of Qinghai 1931–38 and the brother of Ma Qi. A Muslim born in 1873, Linxia County, Gansu, he mainly acceded to the posts of his brother, being general of southeastern Gansu province, as well as councillor of the Qinghai provincial government and acting head of the Construction Bureau of Qinghai province. His father was Ma Haiyan.

Ma Fuxiang was a Chinese military and political leader spanning the Qing Dynasty through the early Republic of China and illustrated the power of family, the role of religious affiliations and the interaction of Inner Asian China and the national government of China. He was a prominent Muslim warlord in northwest China. Ma Fuxiang originally served under Dong Fuxiang, like other Ma Clique Muslim warlords such as Ma Anliang.

Xian Hui is a Chinese female politician of Hui ethnic heritage. She is serving as Chairwoman (Governor) of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region from July 2016. Along with Bu Xiaolin of Inner Mongolia and Shen Yiqin of Guizhou, Xian Hui is one of only three women to hold a provincial government leadership position in China, as of 2016.
