Jean-Michel Clément is a French politician who has been serving as a member of the National Assembly of France since the 2007 elections, representing the 3rd constituency of the Vienne department. He is a former member of La République En Marche! (LREM) and of the Socialist Party.

Chris Marker was a French writer, photographer, documentary film director, multimedia artist and film essayist. His best known films are La Jetée (1962), A Grin Without a Cat (1977) and Sans Soleil (1983). Marker is usually associated with the Left Bank subset of the French New Wave that occurred in the late 1950s and 1960s, and included such other filmmakers as Alain Resnais, Agnès Varda and Jacques Demy.

Marjorie Mayans is a French rugby union player. She represented France at the 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup. She was a member of the squad that won their fourth Six Nations title in 2014. Mayans was also part of the French sevens team at the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens.

Nicolas Martiau (1591–1657) was a Frenchman who immigrated to the English colony of Virginia in the 17th century. Born in the western island of Île de Ré, he is an ancestor of the first American president, George Washington.

His biography of Jean-Baptiste Lully, Lully ou le musicien du soleil, was the basis of the film Le Roi Danse (2000).

Mireia Boya Busquet is a Catalan scientist, activist, and politician. She is a councilor of the Aran municipality of Les. Since February 2018 she has been part of the national secretariat of the Popular Unity Candidacy (CUP). She was a member of the Catalan Parliament from 2016 to 2017.

Prince Camille Armand Jules Marie de Polignac was a French nobleman who served with the Confederates in the American Civil War, living on to become the last surviving Confederate major-general.
