Since 2013, Abreu has performed primarily as a first baseman, however he has also filled in at designated hitter for the White Sox. Abreu won the AL Rookie of the Year Award in 2014, the Silver Slugger Award in 2014, 2018, and 2020, and the American League's Most Valuable Player Award in 2020.
