Seaborn Beck Weathers is an American pathologist from Texas. He survived the 1996 Mount Everest disaster, which was covered in Jon Krakauer's book Into Thin Air (1997), its film adaptation Into Thin Air: Death on Everest (1997), and the films Everest (1998) and Everest (2015). Weathers' autobiographical book, titled Left for Dead: My Journey Home from Everest (2000) includes his ordeal, but also describes his life before and afterward, as he focused on saving his damaged relationships.

Stewart Murray Wilson was a New Zealand sex offender. He was born and raised in Timaru, New Zealand. During his 20s he lived in Sydney before moving to Blenheim, New Zealand. He is known publicly for serious sexual offenses including offenses against children. He served 18 years in prison. In September 2012 he was released on parole with the most stringent release conditions ever imposed on a person in New Zealand. These included that he would be required to live in a house on the grounds of the Whanganui prison – which led to public outrage from local citizens and the Whanganui City Council. Wilson was recalled to jail in February 2013 after he allegedly made a phone call to someone he was not allowed to contact.

Dennis Leroy Hof was an American brothel owner, television personality, and political candidate. He was best known as the owner of seven legal brothels in Nevada. Several of his brothels are in Moundhouse, Nevada, a few minutes outside Carson City. His best-known brothel is the Moonlite BunnyRanch. Hof wrote an autobiography, The Art of the Pimp. He was elected to the Nevada Assembly less than one month after his death.

Stephan Remmler is a German singer, musician, and composer. He became famous as the lead singer of the German band Trio, alongside Gert Krawinkel, who played the guitar, and Peter Behrens, who played the drums. After the deaths of both members, Remmler is the only surviving member of Trio.

John Francis Dunsworth was a Canadian actor best remembered for playing the alcoholic trailer park supervisor Jim Lahey on the comedy series Trailer Park Boys. He was also known for playing the mysterious reporter Dave Teagues on the supernatural drama series Haven, and for playing Officer McNabb in Shattered City: The Halifax Explosion, a CBC film about the 1917 Halifax Explosion. He had extensive experience in regional theater.
