Jarallah Omar al-Kuhali was a Yemeni politician, intellectual, and guerrilla fighter. He was trained in Islamic law, but in the 1960s he turned towards Marxism. He was a political prisoner from 1968 to 1971 and participated in the civil war between North Yemen and South Yemen as a leader of the National Liberation Front, a politico-military coalition affiliated to the socialist government of the South. He escaped to the South after his forces were defeated by then-North Yemeni President and current unified Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh. Omar became a member of the Politburo of the Yemeni Socialist Party (YSP), the ruling party in the South, and was named minister of culture in the government of a newly unified Yemen in the early 1990s. He resigned his cabinet post and went into exile shortly before a failed attempt by former southern politicians to re-establish a "Democratic Republic of Yemen" in 1994. The president of the ephemeral secessionist regime, Ali Salim al-Baidh, was a former ally of Omar in the factional disputes within the YSP in 1986. When Omar returned to the country in 1995, he developed a reputation as a leading advocate of human rights and political freedoms in the authoritarian political climate of Yemen.

Yaşar Topçu, is a Turkish politician and former government minister. He stood trial before the Constitutional Court for corruption charges, and was found guilty of malpractice.

Habib Galhia was a Tunisian boxer, who won the bronze medal in the men's Light Welterweight (67 kg) category at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. He was the first Tunisian to win an Olympic medal.

Ahmed Mekki was the minister of justice of Egypt from 2 August 2012 until he submitted his resignation to President Morsi on 20 April 2013. He was a member of the Qandil Cabinet. Mekki was one of the independent ministers in the cabinet. He is the brother of the former vice president Mahmoud Mekki, who resigned from office on 22 December 2012.

Fevzi Türkeri is a former Turkish general. He graduated from the Turkish Military Academy in 1962 and the Kara Harp Akademisi in 1975. During the 1980s and 1990s he was twice Chief of the Special Forces of the Turkish Army. He was General Commander of the Gendarmerie of Turkey from 26 August 2004 to 24 August 2006.

Ayvaz Gökdemir was a Turkish politician, deputy for three terms and minister in four governments.

Necati Bilican is a retired Turkish civil servant. He was governor of the OHAL state-of-emergency region from 1995 to 1997, and served three terms as Chief of the General Directorate of Security. Bilican was retired in 1999, after his son's gang connections were exposed and the "tele-ear" wire-tapping scandal had seen him go on sick leave for two months. He had also been governor of Denizli Province and Edirne Province.
