Sir Martin John Evans is a British biologist who, with Matthew Kaufman, was the first to culture mice embryonic stem cells and cultivate them in a laboratory in 1981. He is also known, along with Mario Capecchi and Oliver Smithies, for his work in the development of the knockout mouse and the related technology of gene targeting, a method of using embryonic stem cells to create specific gene modifications in mice. In 2007, the three shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in recognition of their discovery and contribution to the efforts to develop new treatments for illnesses in humans.<refname="Nobelprize"/>

Albert Alekseyevich Shesternyov was a football player for CSKA Moscow and the Soviet Union. He is generally regarded as the best football defender in Soviet football history.

Jutta Bettina Stöck is a retired West German sprinter who won European silver medals in the 4 × 100 m relay in 1966 and 1969. She also held the national title in the relay in 1966–68. She competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics in the 200 m and 4 × 100 m relay and placed eighth and sixth, respectively. Her eighth-place result was enough for setting a new German record over 200 m.

Peter Suschitzky, A.S.C. is a British cinematographer and photographer. Among his most known works as director of photography are The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Empire Strikes Back, and Mars Attacks! and the later films of David Cronenberg. Suschitzky succeeded Mark Irwin as Cronenberg's regular cinematographer when Irwin left during the pre-production of Dead Ringers (1988), and has been the cinematographer for all of Cronenberg's films since. He has also collaborated with directors John Boorman, Ken Russell, Bernard Rose, and Tim Burton.
