John Naisbitt was an American author and public speaker in the area of futures studies. His first book Megatrends: Ten New Directions Transforming Our Lives was published in 1982. It was the result of almost ten years of research. It was on The New York Times Best Seller List for two years, mostly as No. 1. Megatrends was published in 57 countries and sold more than 14 million copies.

Waldemar Schreckenberger was a German lawyer, professor emeritus, and politician born in Ludwigshafen. After his graduation from Heidelberg Law School, he earned a doctorate, and completed his habilitation at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer. Subsequently, he assumed full professorships of public law and legal philosophy at the University of Mainz and at Speyer. From 1981 to 1982, he served as Minister of Justice of Rhineland Palatinate and thereafter as Chancellery Chief of Staff under Chancellor Helmut Kohl.

Shams Al Din Badran was an Egyptian government official. He served as minister of defence of Egypt during Gamal Abdel Nasser's era and the unsuccessful Six-Day War of 1967. He was removed from his post during the war and later imprisoned. After his release he married a British woman and lived in "self-imposed exile" in the United Kingdom.

Jean Douchet was a French film director, historian, film critic and teacher who began his career in the early 1950s at Gazette du Cinéma and Cahiers du cinema with members of the future French New Wave.

Kola Beldy was a Soviet-Russian pop singer of Nanai ethnicity. In 1986 he was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist of the RSFSR. He had a number of Soviet-era hits, most famously "Увезу тебя я в тундру". He was signed to Melodiya Moscow, in 1973 winning them Award no. 2 at the Sopot International Song Festival. According to musicologist and rock critic Artemy Troitsky he "scored with some tundra-orientated megahits in the seventies and is considered a hallmark of Soviet snow-opera kitsch".

Omar Efraín Torrijos Herrera was the Commander of the Panamanian National Guard and the de facto head of Panama from 1968 to his death in 1981. Torrijos was never officially the president of Panama, but instead held titles including "Maximum Leader of the Panamanian Revolution". Torrijos took power in a coup d'état and instituted a number of social reforms.

Kenji Suzuki is a former television announcer for the NHK in Japan. He retired in 1988. He is the younger brother of film director Seijun Suzuki.
