Pauline Kael was an American film critic who wrote for The New Yorker magazine from 1968 to 1991. Kael was known for her "witty, biting, highly opinionated and sharply focused" reviews, her opinions often contrary to those of her contemporaries. She was one of the most influential American film critics of her era.

Luis Héctor Álvarez Álvarez was a Mexican industrialist and politician. Álvarez was a member of the National Action Party. In 1958 he was a candidate for the Presidency of Mexico. He has also served as Mayor of Chihuahua, president of his party and was the coordinator of the dialogues for peace in Chiapas.

Joseph-Georges-Gilles-Claude Lamontagne was a Canadian politician and the 24th Lieutenant Governor of Quebec.

Harold Joseph Singer, also known as Hal "Cornbread" Singer, was an American R&B and jazz bandleader and saxophonist.

Wolfgang Wagner was a German opera director. He is best known as the director (Festspielleiter) of the Bayreuth Festival, a position he initially assumed alongside his brother Wieland in 1951 until the latter's death in 1966. From then on, he assumed total control until he retired in 2008, although many of the productions which he commissioned were severely criticized in their day. He had been plagued by family conflicts and criticism for many years. He was the son of Siegfried Wagner, who was the son of Richard Wagner, and the great-grandson of Franz Liszt.

Nachman Dushanski was an officer of Soviet security agencies in the Lithuanian SSR for over thirty years. He was heavily involved in the suppression of the Lithuanian partisans who fought against the Soviet occupation of Lithuania. In Russia, he was regarded as a war hero and was awarded the Medal For Courage, Order of the Patriotic War, and Order of Lenin, while many Lithuanians perceived him as a war criminal for killing and torturing Lithuanian resistance fighters. In 1989, Dushanski immigrated to Israel. After Lithuania declared independence in 1990, Lithuanian prosecutors began a criminal case, but Israel refused to extradite him.

Luboš Perek was a Czech astronomer best known for his Catalogue of Galactic Planetary Nebulae co-written in 1967 with Luboš Kohoutek. He worked on the distribution of mass in the galaxy, high-velocity stars, planetary nebulae, definition of outer space, geostationary orbit, space debris, and management of outer space.

Kathleen Freeman was an American film, television, voice actress, and stage actress. In a career that spanned more than 50 years, she portrayed acerbic maids, secretaries, teachers, busybodies, nurses, and battle-axe neighbors and relatives, almost invariably to comic effect. In film she is perhaps best remembered for appearing in 11 Jerry Lewis comedies in the 1950s and 60s, The Blues Brothers (1980) and its sequel, and Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult (1994).

Leonor Oyarzún Ivanovic is a former First Lady of Chile and the widow of former President Patricio Aylwin. She turned 100 in March 2019.

Leon Festinger was an American social psychologist, perhaps best known for cognitive dissonance and social comparison theory. His theories and research are credited with renouncing the previously dominant behaviorist view of social psychology by demonstrating the inadequacy of stimulus-response conditioning accounts of human behavior. Festinger is also credited with advancing the use of laboratory experimentation in social psychology, although he simultaneously stressed the importance of studying real-life situations, a principle he perhaps most famously practiced when personally infiltrating a doomsday cult. He is also known in social network theory for the proximity effect.
