He has played for the Boston Red Sox and New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks and Chunichi Dragons of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).

Farid Yu Darvishsefat , popularly known as Yu Darvish, is a Japanese professional baseball starting pitcher for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB). Darvish has also played in MLB for the Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs and in Nippon Professional Baseball for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters. In international play, Darvish pitched in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2009 World Baseball Classic as a member of the Japanese national team.

Robert Paul Melvin is an American former professional baseball player and coach who is the manager of the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB). During a 10-year playing career from 1985 through 1994, Melvin was a catcher for the Detroit Tigers, San Francisco Giants, Baltimore Orioles, Kansas City Royals, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, and Chicago White Sox. He has been named Manager of the Year three times, most recently in 2018.

Gerrit Alan Cole is an American professional baseball pitcher for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Houston Astros. Cole played for the baseball team at Orange Lutheran High School, and was selected by the Yankees in the first round of the 2008 MLB Draft. Cole opted not to sign, and instead attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he played college baseball for the UCLA Bruins.

Dewey LaMarr Hoyt Jr. was an American professional baseball right-handed pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball for the Chicago White Sox and San Diego Padres from 1979 to 1986. He won the 1983 American League Cy Young Award and was an All-Star in 1985.

Phillip Louis Maton III is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played college baseball at Louisiana Tech University. Maton was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 20th round of the 2015 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut in 2017. He previously played for the Padres and Cleveland Indians.

Robert Glenn Ray is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers, Arizona Diamondbacks and Toronto Blue Jays. Ray was an MLB All-Star in 2017 and won the American League Cy Young Award in 2021.

Troy Michael Snitker is an American professional baseball coach for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Shingo Takatsu is a former professional baseball pitcher. He had a short stint with the Chicago White Sox where he was the closer for two seasons until struggles closing games ultimately led to his demotion to the minors. Despite being demoted in the summer of 2005, he received a World Series ring with the White Sox. He was signed by the New York Mets during the 2005 season, and he pitched in nine games for New York. After the 2005 season, he returned to the Nippon Professional Baseball.

Ronald José Acuña Blanco Jr. is a Venezuelan professional baseball outfielder for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2018, and won the National League Rookie of the Year Award. The next season, Acuña was named an MLB All-Star, was the NL stolen base leader, and won a Silver Slugger Award.
