Santiago Brouard or Santi Brouard was a doctor and Basque politician. He was one of the leaders of Herri Batasuna, and deputy mayor of Bilbao. He was killed by the Spanish government's death squad, the Grupos Antiterroristas de Liberación (GAL), in one of its highest-profile acts. Broaurd was shot by GAL gunmen Luis Morcillo and Rafael López Ocaña as he left his paediatric clinic in Bilbao.

Masato Yoshii , nicknamed "Oiyan", is a retired Japanese professional baseball player and former pitching coach in the Japanese Pacific League. He pitched in Major League Baseball from 1998 to 2002.

Jeff Hafley is an American football coach who is currently the head coach of Boston College. Hafley was a four-year letterman (1997–2000) as a wide receiver on the Siena Saints football team and graduated in 2001 from Siena College with a bachelor's degree in history. He earned a master's degree from the University at Albany, SUNY in 2003.

Ann Louise Gilligan was an Irish theologian who taught at Saint Patrick's College, Drumcondra. A former nun, she was the wife of Katherine Zappone. In Zappone and Gilligan v. Revenue Commissioners (2006), they unsuccessfully sought recognition of their Canadian marriage. Despite failing in the courts, Gilligan was a leading campaigner in Ireland's 2015 same-sex marriage referendum, and ultimately succeeded in having her marriage recognised in Irish law before her death in 2017.

Jungjong of Joseon, born Yi Yeok or Lee Yeok, ruled during the 16th century in what is now Korea. He succeeded his half-brother, Yeonsangun, because of the latter's tyrannical misrule, which culminated in a coup placing Jungjong on the throne.
