Peter James Barnard-Powell is a former English disc jockey, popular on BBC Radio 1 in the late 1970s and 1980s, as well as a television presenter for the BBC music chart programme Top of the Pops. He has also had a second career in talent management.

Murad Taqqu is an Iraqi probabilist and statistician specializing in time series and stochastic processes. His research areas have included long-range dependence, self-similar processes, and heavy tails. He is a Professor of Mathematics at Boston University and received his Ph.D. from Columbia University. He has published over 250 papers, many of which are considered seminal work. He has co-authored or co-edited 9 books.

Bärbel Wöckel is a retired East German sprinter. She never ran a world record in the individual disciplines. However, she ran several world records in the team with Doris Maletzki, Renate Stecher and Christina Heinich over 4 x 100 meters, the last time on September 8, 1974 in Rome. At the GDR Championships she took first place in the 4 x 100 meter relay in 1974, 1977, 1978, 1981 to 1984. In 1976 she won third place with the team. During this time she was in the state-organized doping program.

Brian Philip Babin is an American dentist, politician and member of the Republican Party who has served as the U.S. Representative from Texas's 36th congressional district since January 2015. The district includes much of southeastern Houston, some of its eastern suburbs, as well as Orange and some more exurban areas to the east.

Ilya Piatetski-Shapiro was a Soviet-born Israeli mathematician. During a career that spanned 60 years he made major contributions to applied science as well as pure mathematics. In his last forty years his research focused on pure mathematics; in particular, analytic number theory, group representations and algebraic geometry. His main contribution and impact was in the area of automorphic forms and L-functions.
