Augusto Vargas Alzamora S.J. was a Cardinal Priest and Archbishop of Lima in the Roman Catholic Church.

Earl Wilbur Sutherland Jr. was an American pharmacologist and biochemist born in Burlingame, Kansas. Sutherland won a Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1971 "for his discoveries concerning the mechanisms of the action of hormones", especially epinephrine, via second messengers, namely cyclic adenosine monophosphate, or cyclic AMP.

Johann Jacob Baeyer was a German geodesist and a lieutenant-general in the Royal Prussian Army. He was the first director of the Royal Prussian Geodetic Institute and is regarded as the founder of the International Association of Geodesy. He was the father of the Nobel Prize–winning chemist Adolf von Baeyer. Baeyer was a Lutheran.

Digvijay Singh was an Indian politician from the state of Bihar, and an associate of George Fernandes of Janata Dal and later Samata Party. He represented Banka in the Lok Sabha a few times. He was elected to Rajya Sabha twice. He died on 24 June 2010 in London after suffering a brain haemorrhage.

Timothy P. Minear is an American screenwriter and director. He has been nominated for four Emmy Awards for his role as an executive producer on American Horror Story and Feud.

Karl-Otto Kiepenheuer was a German astronomer and astrophysicist. His research focused on the Sun, and for that purpose he initiated construction of several solar telescopes and founded the Kiepenheuer Institute for Solar Physics.

Edward George Dannreuther was a German pianist and writer on music, resident from 1863 in England. His father had crossed the Atlantic, moving to Cincinnati, and there established a piano manufacturing business. Young Edward, under pressure from his father to enter banking as a career, a prospect he found uncongenial, escaped to Leipzig in 1859.

Ng Hui Lin is a Malaysian professional badminton player. She plays in the doubles event with her younger sister Ng Hui Ern. In December 2014, Hui Lin resigned from the Badminton Association of Malaysia to pursue her career.
