Jagadish Shivappa Shettar is a Former Chief Minister of Karnataka belonging to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who was the 21st Chief Minister of Karnataka from 2012 to 2013. He has subsequently served as Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. Earlier, he was the Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly during 2008-2009. Currently he represents Hubli-Dharwad Central Vidhan Sabha seat. On 20 August 2019 he was inducted as the Cabinet Minister for Large and medium scale industries excluding sugar and Public Enterprise department in the BJP Government led by B.S. Yediyurappa.

Wong Shoon Keat was a badminton player from Singapore. He won Singapore's first ever badminton gold at the 1983 SEA Games and to date, is Singapore’s only title winner in the men’s singles event. That year, he pulled off an upset over reigning world champion Icuk Sugiarto of Indonesia, and beat another Indonesian star, Hastomo Arbi in the final. His son, Derek Wong, was Singapore’s top male shuttler.
