Mark Allen Emmert is the current president of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. He is the fifth CEO of the NCAA; he was named as the incoming president on April 27, 2010, and assumed his duties on November 1, 2010.

Bruce Nathan Ames is an American biochemist. He is a professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Emeritus at the University of California, Berkeley, and was a senior scientist at Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute (CHORI). He is the inventor of the Ames test, a system for easily and cheaply testing the mutagenicity of compounds.

Amund Martin Sjøbrend is a former ice speed skater from Norway.

Jan Behrendt is an East German-German luger who competed from the mid-1980s to 1998. Together with Stefan Krauße he won two Olympic gold medals, one silver medal (1988) and one bronze (1994) in men's doubles.
