Sunny Suwanmethanont is a Thai actor of French and Singaporean descent. His father is half Thai half Singaporean, and his mother is French. He is best known for his leading role as Khaiyoi in the 2005 film, Dear Dakanda, for which he won the Best Actor award in Kom Chad Luek Awards. He also starred in the 2014 romantic-comedy movie, I Fine..Thank You..Love You and the 2015 comedy-drama movie, Heart Attack alongside Davika Hoorne. He is also one of the lead actors in Brother of the Year with Urassaya Sperbund and Nichkhun.

He is the former spokesman for the Hong Kong Higher Institutions International Affairs Delegation (HKIAD) as the representative of the students union council of the University of Hong Kong. He participated in the Umbrella Revolution of 2014 and the 2019-2020 Hong Kong protests. His lobbying efforts in the United States and various countries helped to promote the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act, along with sanctions on Chinese and Hong Kong officials.

Sunny Varkey is a non-resident Indian, Dubai-based education entrepreneur and education philanthropist. He is the founder and chairman of the global advisory and educational management firm GEMS Education, which is the largest operator of private kindergarten-to-grade-12 schools in the world, with a network of 52 schools in 4 countries. He is also the chairman of the umbrella business organisation the Varkey Group, and the founder and trustee of the philanthropic Varkey Foundation. As of 2012, Varkey is also a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador. And in June 2015, Varkey committed to The Giving Pledge, vowing to donate at least half of his money to philanthropic causes over his lifetime. He is the first education entrepreneur to join the pledge.
