Mieczysław Weinberg was a Polish-born Soviet composer. Ever since a revival concert series in the 2010 Bregenz Festival in Austria, his music has been increasingly described as "some of the most individual and compelling music of the twentieth century". Weinberg's output was extensive, encompassing 26 symphonies, 17 string quartets, nearly 30 sonatas for various instruments, 7 operas, and numerous film scores.

Mieczysław Franciszek Rakowski was a Polish communist politician, historian and journalist who was Prime Minister of Poland from 1988 to 1989. He served as the seventh and final First Secretary of the Polish United Workers' Party from 1989 to 1990.

Mieczysław Czechowicz was a Polish actor. A graduate of Warsaw's State Theatrical Academy, Czechowicz played in numerous films, plays and cabarets. He worked for the National Theatre as well as other Warsaw theatres. In 1987 he was awarded the Polonia Restituta. As a movie actor, he played in such productions, as Janosik, Czterej Pancerni i Pies, Lalka, The Tin Drum, and comedies by Stanisław Bareja. Czechowicz's voice is known by almost all kids in Poland, as he voiced the friendly teddy bear in a popular cartoon Miś Uszatek.

Mieczysław Halka-Ledóchowski, was born in Górki in Russian controlled Congress Poland to Count Josef Ledóchowski and Maria Zakrzewska. He was uncle to Saint Ursula Ledóchowska, the Blessed Maria Teresia (Theresa) Ledóchowska and Father Włodzimierz Ledóchowski, General Superior of the Society of Jesus.

Mieczysław Młynarski is a retired Polish professional basketball player, and coach. At a height of 1.99 m tall, and a weight of 91 kg (200 lbs.), he played at the small forward position, during his playing career.

Mieczysław Broński Russian: Мечислав Генрихович Бронский (Варшавский); 1882 – 1 September 1938) was a Polish communist, Soviet diplomat and academic, and a victim of the Great Purge.
