Dr. Guidere is the founder of the Swiss NGO Multilingual International Mediators, and has been awarded King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Award for Translation due to his individual efforts in translating from Arabic. He has been also editor-in-chief of the French Journal of Languages' Professors, Les Langues Modernes, from 2001 to 2003. In 2015, he was also Team Leader of the European Union Research Program in West Africa and the Sahel Region.
