James Edwin McPherson is an American government official and retired United States Navy rear admiral. He has served as the Acting United States Under Secretary of the Army since July 23, 2019, and was sworn into the position full-time on March 25, 2020 following confirmation by the Senate. He concurrently served as the General Counsel of the Army from 2018 to 2020.
