Carl Gustaf Tessin was a Swedish Count and politician and son of architect Nicodemus Tessin the Younger and Hedvig Eleonora Stenbock. He was one of the most brilliant personages of his day, and the most prominent representative of French culture in Sweden. He was also a fine orator.

Carl Anton Bjerknes was a Norwegian mathematician and physicist. Bjerknes' earlier work was in pure mathematics, but he is principally known for his studies in hydrodynamics.

Carl Fredrik Ehrensvärd was a Swedish baron, soldier, farmer and political writer who was convicted of involvement in the murder of Gustav III in 1792 and sentenced to death. The sentence was later changed by the supreme court and his life was spared on the condition that he left the country for good. He was stripped of his status as baron and his civil rights were revoked. Following his forced departure from Sweden, he eventually settled in Denmark where he met the author and mother of Johan Ludvig Heiberg, Thomasine Christine Gyllembourg-Ehrensvärd whom he married.

Carl Christoffer Gjörwell , was a Swedish journalist, a prolific editor of some twenty journals and a psalmist whose hymns were published in the Moravian hymnal Sions Nya Sånger and elsewhere. His name is alternatively rendered as Carl Christoffersson Gjörwell, Carl Christopher Gjörwell or Karl Kristofer Gjörwell.

Carl Gustav Axel Harnack (7 May [O.S. 25 April] 1851, Dorpat was a Baltic German mathematician who contributed to potential theory. Harnack's inequality applied to harmonic functions. He also worked on the real algebraic geometry of plane curves, proving Harnack's curve theorem for real plane algebraic curves.
