Walter Buser was a Swiss politician from the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland (SDP).

Sandrine Doucet was a French politician. As a member of the Socialist Party, she served as a Deputy between 2012 and 2017, representing Gironde's 1st constituency.

Éric Névé, was a French film producer who produced from the early nineteen nineties until his death. In 1993, he founded his own production company, La Chauve Souris. Éric is best known for Jan Kounen’s Dobermann, starring Vicent Cassel and Monica Bellucci, Jean-Paul Salomé’s Female Agents starring Sophie Marceau, and Frédéric Schoendoerffer's Crime Insiders. In 2011, he founded Astou Films, a production company based in Senegal, with whom he produced the French-Senegalese film The Pirogue directed by Senegalese director Moussa Touré, screened in the section Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival 2012 and in over 80 film festivals across the globe. In 2013 he created, with Nicholas Eschbach an international feature film sales and co-production company, Indie Sales, which focuses on diverse international independent films with a strong commercial potential.

Charles Kittel was an American physicist. He was a Professor at University of California, Berkeley from 1951 and was Professor Emeritus from 1978 until his death.

Taku Mayumura was a Japanese novelist, science fiction writer and haiku poet. He won the Seiun Award for Novel twice. His novel Shiseikan, written in 1974, was translated into English by Daniel Jackson in 2004. Mayumura was also a young adult fiction writer whose works have been adapted into TV drama, film, and anime. Mayumura was an honorary member of the SFWJ.

Václav Vorlíček was a Czech film director. He studied filmmaking at FAMU from 1951 to 1956, and began directing feature films since the early 1960s. His filmography includes several comedies made in collaboration with screenwriter Miloš Macourek. He directed several children's and fairytale films, most notably Tři oříšky pro Popelku (1973), a Christmas film classic in many European countries.

Thelma Delia Suklenik Snopik, better known by her stage name Thelma Tixou, was a Mexican vedette and actress of Argentinian origin. She was one of the most popular Mexican vedettes during the 1970s and 1980s.

Israel Goodman Young, known as Izzy Young, was a noted figure in the world of folk music, both in America and Sweden. He was once the owner of the Folklore Center in Greenwich Village, New York, and from 1973 until his death, owned and operated the Folklore Centrum store in Stockholm.
