Bazilije Stjepan Pandžić was a historian, archivist and orientalist. He entered the Franciscan Order in 1935 and was ordained for a priest in 1941. From 1947 to 1985 he was the general archivist and analyst of the Franciscan Order in Rome. In 1958 he was elected vice-president of the International Association of Church Archives. He turned 100 in January 2018, and in April 2019, died at the age of 101.

Johann Baptist Metz was a German Catholic priest and theologian. He was Ordinary Professor of Fundamental Theology at the University of Münster, and a consultant to the synod of German dioceses. He is regarded as one of the most important German theologians after the Second Vatican Council, who influenced liberation theology and focused on compassion.

Ingo Maurer was a German industrial designer who specialised in the design of lamps and light installations. He was nicknamed "poet of light".

Erich Iltgen was a German politician of the Christian Democratic Union. From 1990 to 2009, he was president of the Saxony state parliament, the Landtag of Saxony.

Udo Schaefer was a German lawyer and a theologian of the Baháʼí Faith.

Lamia Al-Gailani Werr was an Iraqi archaeologist specialising in ancient Mesopotamian antiquities.

Yevgeny Viktorovich Bushmin was a Russian politician. He served as a Deputy of the 1st State Duma and Deputy Finance Minister, and was the member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly as the representative of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. At the time of his death he was the incumbent member of the Federation Council for Rostov Oblast, and the council's Deputy Chairman.

Aleksey Ivanovich Lebed served as professional officer with the Soviet/Russian Airborne Forces, like his more prominent older brother, the late Alexander Lebed. After quitting military service in 1995 with the rank of colonel, he was elected chairman of the government of Khakassia Administrative Republic. He came to the post in 1997, and was re-elected in 2000. Shortly after he came to power in 1997, the transmitter of the Sayansk television and radio company was cut off. Station chief Veniamin Striga said Lebed was responsible. In 2006 criminal charges were brought against Lebed related to claims of abuse of power. In 2009 Viktor Zimin took Lebed's position as the head of the government of Khakassia.

Michel Crauste was a French international rugby union player. He played as a flanker and Number 8 for Racing Club de France and FC Lourdes.

Carlo Strenger was a Swiss and Israeli psychologist, philosopher, existential psychoanalyst and public intellectual who served as professor of psychology and philosophy at Tel Aviv University.
