Rebecca Marie "Becky" Watts was a British student from Bristol who was murdered in 2015 at the age of 16. In November 2015, her step-brother, Nathan Matthews, was found guilty of her murder and was sentenced to life in prison with eligibility for parole after 33 years and his girlfriend, Shauna Hoare, was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to 17 years in prison, but Matthews maintained that Hoare was not involved at all Both Matthews and Hoare were also convicted of conspiracy to kidnap, preventing the lawful burial of a body, perverting the course of justice and possession of two stun guns.

Ron Moody was an English actor, singer, composer and writer best known for his portrayal of Fagin in Oliver! (1968) and its 1983 Broadway revival. Moody earned a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination for the film, as well as a Tony Award nomination for the stage production. Other notable projects include The Mouse on the Moon (1963), Mel Brooks's The Twelve Chairs (1970) and Flight of the Doves (1971), in which Moody shared the screen with Oliver! co-star Jack Wild.

Yang Ko-han was a Taiwanese actress and producer. Born Yang Jiayu (楊家瑜), she was also known by the stage names White Rabbit, Yang Hsin-chiao (楊芯喬), and Yang Ko-fan (楊可凡). She started her entertainment career as part of Blackie's Teenage Club, known for her singing abilities. She later became and actress, and was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Golden Bell Award in 2013. She hanged herself on July 6, 2015 and died from her injuries on July 18, 2015. Yang was posthumously nominated for another Golden Bell in 2015, but with The New World, this time as a Best Leading Actress.

Phillip Walsh was an Australian rules footballer and coach. Walsh played for Collingwood, Richmond and the Brisbane Bears in the Victorian Football League (VFL) between 1983 and 1990. Upon ending his playing career, Walsh held assistant coaching roles at Geelong, West Coast and Port Adelaide before being appointed as the head coach of the Adelaide Football Club for a three-season contract beginning in 2015.
