Héctor Salvá González was a Uruguayan football midfielder who played for Uruguay in the 1966 FIFA World Cup. He also played for Danubio. In Argentina, he played for Gimnasia de La Plata in 1968-'69, and coached it in 1975.

Augusta Marie Chiwy was a Belgian nurse who served as a volunteer during the Siege of Bastogne in 1944. She worked with U.S. Army physician John Prior and with fellow Belgian nurse Renée Lemaire, treating injured soldiers during the Battle of the Bulge.
Grégoire Haddad
Grégoire Haddad in Arabic was, from 1968 to 1975, Archeparch of the Melkite Greek Catholic Archeparchy of Beirut and Byblos. He was known as the "Red Bishop of Beirut" promoting a secular "social movement" and a platform of rapprochement between Muslims and Christians with the onslaught of the Lebanese Civil War. He reinforced his controversial viewpoints through further secular movements and through Afaq magazine, which he founded. In 1975 under pressure from the Holy See, he resigned from active religious duty. Since his resignation, he became an emeritus archbishop without holding an actual diocese in Lebanon.

John Leslie Gainsford was a South African rugby union player. He was born in Germiston. Gainsford played in 71 matches for South Africa, including tour games, and was known for being the most-capped Springbok centre until his record was overtaken by Japie Mulder in 2001.
